Great photo! Would it possible to use one of them on our Facebook Cover? We're just about to launch a new website, app etc called A Little Bit About East Grinstead and are on the lookout for lovely pictures of the area. If we were to use it we would obviously credit you as the photographer.

your setting up voicemail was right on. I'm on a local carrier so as far as replacing the xxx I just type in my phone number. but it worked perfectly! Thanks

Hi, not sure what to recommend as this was a long time ago. The SFEP driver may not apply to all systems.
As far as order is confirmed the below worked for me and for all those that have commented here that it worked other orders may also work.
I would say your best bet would be to create a system restore point before you start or if you really want make a disk image before starting them you can always switch back if it all goes pear shaped.

Terrific post... I've just downloaded all the drivers for my ancient but beautiful Vaio TZ31VN, and nowhere is there anything I can identify as the SFEP driver. I'm also terrified as there are at least three different posts out there from different people sayin ghow to install W7 and get all the drivers functionin - they all say you need to follow a particular order, but the order is different from one to another! Any ideas much appreciated...

I recently rebuilt my VGN-SR51MF/S with Win7 Ultimate from an original DVD (not the rebuild discs). I wasn't aware there were problems getting the function keys to work so I'd already installed a bunch of stuff before I discovered the problem.

I uninstalled all of the bits from your step 5 and then reinstalled them in your order, with the restarts (including installing updates to the first two things, with restarts) i.e. 5(1) original, restart, update, restart, 5 (3) original, restart, update, restart, 5 (5) restart, 5 (7) restart.

I know, it's crazy but that seems to be the only way, I would recommend kicking up as much of a stink as possible with Xbox support and explain that when you made the account you didn't get the choice in the same way that hotmail didn't give the d.o.b field to start with - you should hopefully get some compensation
Really they need to enable the date to be changed, maybe just have it that telephone support need to make the change and will ask for details of card holder and card itself which a "minor" wouldn't have access to so wouldn't be able to make themselves older.
Still drives me mad that this is actually only to do with ea not being able to collect data from minors, why do ea need the info! Really just allow play and lose the extra info which is purely for statistics and marketing

A similar thing happened to me. Whilst I am able to queue downloads okay, I'm currently unable to play Battlefield 3 online.

I had an automated response back from EA to say that the account must have an age of 13 or greater and the support I received through XBOX online support basically said the same as in your post - i.e. the age is set in stone and can't be changed.

I first created my account in 2004 on the old XBOX which was later transferred to a 360 in 2005. It seems bizarre to me that I must now lose six years of gaming saves, friends and achievements plus my gamertag I've had for seven years just to play an EA game.

worked perfectly on my sony vaio vgn-c2z/b. Thanks a lot! A couple of my devices were disabled in the device manager i noticed afterwards and i just enabled them again. Whether that was after this specifically i cant say.

Whoa, and then it all starts to tumble into place!

I used the latest driver there against an entry in Device Manager that began SD Host Controller.

Armed with that success I began to look for a driver for the Base System Device that I figured must be the Sony MS controller. The driver that worked was on this page:

I used the latest driver there 6.03.00.0061.

So now my card reader is working! Hope this helps others.

Sweeeeet! The process worked for my TT21JN. But didn't activate my built-in card reader :-(
The search goes on.
Just thought I'd say that the Sony website for the TT21JN has the DLL (drivers) listed separately. But Windows 7 had most of those down. Still, I downloaded those that seemed like I might need them, like the chipset drivers and the memory card reader drivers and installed them where I could. And followed Ben's order.

And now my front panel works!

In your 'Start' menu click on 'Run' and type in services.msc
You'll see a long list called Services (Local), click on the name parameter to have them sorted alphabetically.
Find the one called VAIO Event Service. Double click this and ensure that for Startup Type it says 'automatic', if it does not, change it to 'automatic' and click 'apply'.
Then be sure below that, that the Service Status says 'Started'.

Unfortunatley Apple probably won't "come to their senses" seeing as they have a competing product and firefox and Apple definelty don't see eye to eye. I don't see any collaboration in the near future.

can you go into Settings->Mail Contacts & Calendars and into your gmail account, then into outgoing server, then click smtp.gmail.com which should be your primary server, this should tell you what settings it is using, can you post them here, apart from obviously the username and password! :)

What about incomming is that working?

Does internet work in safari? depends wether you may have a general problem or its just linked to gmail itself. If you post back some more info i'll see if i can help.

for me i uninstalled everything i could then started in the order posted above. what model of laptop do you have? Im surprised there are no windows 7 drivers yet, most of the reasonably modern laptops appeared to get upgrades of drivers.

As for fingerprint scanner, the link at the bottom with the upek software should help thats what i used, although i think the sense was actually found properly by windows itself.

Some of the drivers you might be able to get awat with using the inf file in the folder of the driver if the setup.exe doesnt work, but this can get tricky so tread carefully.

If you can let me know what model laptop you have i'll have a see what i can find out

Hi sorry for the slow response I have been busy.

If you install the mouse/touchpad driver you should get an app in control panel somewhere to configure the touchpad/joystick(nipple thing in keyboard) i found on my BX series that it was the joystick mouse that casused the jumps.

if that doesnt help you can disable tapping whilst typing in the mouse options.

Im sure i read about a little freeware app or script which got around the problem but I cant for the life of me remember whwre i found it, i'll post if i do find it.
